Vail getaway Oktoberfest weekends

Posted by: whattodo | Comments (0)

Bring out the lederhosen, zip up the dirndls and toast your steins to: Oktoberfest! The yearly festival of beer, music and autumn returns to Vail September 10-12 and 17-19. It’s a party with dancing. The Town of Vail will host two full weekends (that’s six incredible days) of oom-pah parties, lively activities and traditional German fare in Vail, Colorado. Listen to and sing along with Bavarian tunes and compete in crowd favorites like the Klement’s bratwurst-eating contest, Beck’s keg bowling, yodeling, and alpenhorn blowing. It’s all part of the local Bavarian fun.

Hi, I’m Rosie. Welcome to my Travel Tips page for your Vail, Colorado vacation. It’s interactive, so you can plan your vacation with me and WhatToDo.info. I love to travel, and I love the high country. I’ve lived in Vail since the early ’70s, have traveled and lived around the world, but I always come home. Have you ever been to Vail? If you have, let me know what you did on your last Vail vacation.

It’s hard to fit everything you want to do in, don’t you think? Probably time to come back and experience the Colorado high country then. If you have questions about visiting these mountains, go to vail.whattodo.info and I can find the answers for you. We have comprehensive resources to share with you. This is your chance to interact with What To Do’s lead blog author. Share your experiences and find out how to have a memorable vacation. Finding lodging is your first task. If you don’t know where you want to stay, check out our maps and lodging site and last-minute deals that show what’s available in different parts of the valley. Go online and look for the best deals on accommodations at vail.whattodo.info. While you search, look for activities that you’d love to do once you unpack your bags. Some days are perfect for adventure; others might be lazy days in the sun or at the spa. There are short outings and big hikes. Talk to me. Personally, when I have free time I like to go for a hike (like Pitkin Creek in East Vail) or take out my road bike and pedal the length of the valley. Much of the bike path is along the Eagle River, and it just makes me happy to be there.

But maybe you like something else. What kinds of adventures do you look for when you travel? Maybe your partner likes to golf, but you and the kids want to explore. Vail.whattodo.info is connected with hundreds of businesses and service providers who can help plan your day – your entire Vail trip, for that matter. Just ask me and What To Do. In my opinion, Vail has it all in summer – its clear skies and natural setting invite vacationers to try something new or do the thing they love. Horseback riding or hiking. Biking or golf. Kayaking or a hot air balloon ride.

Write to me about your interests and specific things you might want to do to make this your best vacation. Remember, this is Colorado high country, and it’s a wonderland out there.
